This is a joke about Chinese names...

Caller : Hello, can I speak to Annie Wan? (anyone)

Operator : Yes, you can speak to me.

Caller: No, I want to speak to Annie Wan!

Operator: You are talking to someone! Who is this?

Caller: I'm Sam Wan (someone) And I need to talk to Annie Wan! It's urgent.

Operator: I know you are someone and you want to talk to anyone! But what's this urgent matter about?

Caller: Well... just tell my sister Annie Wan that our brother Noel Wan (no one) was involved in an accident. Noel Wan got injured and now Noel Wan is being sent to the hospital. Right now, Avery Wan is on his way to the hospital.

Operator: Look if no one was injured and no one was sent to the hospital, then the accident isn't an urgent matter! You may find this hilarious but I don't have time for this!

Caller: You are so rude! Who are you?

Operator: I'm Saw Lee. (sorry)

AYAM KAMBING BAG

Weekend is here again so its time to relax and take a break from work.

**************************
Samy Vellu was visiting India when he fell and broke his jaw.

He was unable to speak. Being the great leader that he is, he continued his grand tour.

On the last week of his visit, the RTM crew was present for his press conference.

Although unable to speak, Samy insisted on sending a message home to his Cabinet colleagues. Samy caught a chicken and showed it to the camera. Next he took a goat, and showed it to the camera. Finally he took a bag and displayed it in front of the camera.

Dr. Ling was the first to see the video clip. He said, "Samy is telling us that India has insufficient food because he showed us a chicken and a goat, and he wants Malaysia to donate bags of rice.

Mahathir watched silently then said, "No lah.... what Samy is trying to say is HE IS COMING BACK."

The whole cabinet was puzzled and look to the old man for an explanation.

Mahathir reasoned, "AYAM KAMBING BAG." ("I am coming back" in Indian accent)

Fact about Life - George Carlin

Contributed by Jelin Chu

George Carlin was an American comedian of the 70's and 80's. He was known to be a little foul-mouthed and it is fascinating that after the death of his wife and 9-11 he would write the following.

A wonderful Message by George Carlin

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete.

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

HOW TO STAY YOUNG

1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctor worry about them. That is why you pay him/her.

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. " An idle mind is the devil's workshop." And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, to the next county, to a foreign country, but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

-George Carlin

Peace of Mind

If you were to ask your neighbour,"What would give you peace of mind?" he might tell you,"A vacation in Bermuda!" or "An extra hundred grand would give me peace!", or "A new Ferrari would make me content!"

But going places and getting stuff is usually a temporary solution...Let's say you buy a lottery ticket and by some miracle you win your dream Ferrari. Today you are content. Tomorrow you are saying, "If I could just catch that little punk who scratched it in the car park!" Peace of mind rarely comes from getting more stuff. Getting more stuff usually leads to wanting even more stuff!

Peace of mind starts with being grateful for what you have right now.,"GRATITUDE is POWER , and here's why ...When you are thankful for what you have - for the friends you have, and for the things you've got, you attract more good people and good things.

People who always complain about what they DON'T HAVE , stay stuck. Complainers attract more things to complain about! It is a law of life. It's hard to explain, but you can observe it around you. We get more of what we dwell upon. That's why all the spiritual masters have taught the same lesson...

"Start by being thankful. Be happy with what you have now, and more will come your way." It's practical advice.

IN A NUTSHELL

Every time you say a silent "thank you" you become more peaceful - and more powerful.

Blessing you, folks!

A Successful Relationship

A boy was born to a couple after 11 years of marriage. They were a loving couple and the boy was the apple of their eye.

When the boy was around two years old, one morning the husband saw a medicine bottle open. He was late for work so he asked his wife to cap the bottle and keep it in the cupboard. His wife, preoccupied in the kitchen, totally forgot about the matter.

The boy saw the bottle and playfully went to the bottle and fascinated by its color, drank it all. It happened to be a poisonous medicine meant for adults in small dosages. When the child collapsed, the mother hurried him to the hospital, where he died.

The mother was stunned. She was terrified how to face her husband. When the distraught father came to the hospital and saw the dead child, he looked at his wife and uttered just four words.

QUESTIONS:(Email me yr answer & i'll mail u actual ans)

1. What were the four words?

2. What is the implication of this story?

Power of Daily Habit - Matt Furey

Contribute by Jelin Chu

My son loves to draw. When we go to the beach he'll spend hours coloring and drawing. He will literally fill an entire notebook in an evening. Then he'll get up, staple the pages together and say, "Daddy, here's my new book."

He'll have his name on the cover - and a few words sprinkled throughout that explain some of his drawings. He's proud of what he has created - and so am I.

Then he wants to know when he'll be a really, really good artist. And that's when I break the news to him.

"You can become great in anything you want,"I tell him. "But not without practice. The real key to greatness is practice. Anyone can form a goal, but training is what makes the difference.

"I then explain to him that you don't even need to practice "all day long" to become great."Most people never practice," I said. "They don't train. But if you put in 30 minutes a day on something, you can become good, no matter who you are. And if you spend more time than that you can become truly great."

"Why thirty minutes a day," my son asked.

"Because when you develop a good dally habit you are like a person who is saving stamps. If you collect stamps everyday, after a few years you'll have hundreds of stamps. Practice of anything is the same way. When you do it everyday you're collecting skill, you're collecting energy. And as the energy builds a bit each day, pretty soon you've got something."

"But I want to be really good at this," he said.

"If you have the desire - and that's the key word - the DESIRE, then you'll also take the time to practice. To say you want it is one thing. You must PROVE you want it by practice."It's easy to think this story is nothing more than a story for my son - yet that would be wrong. In today's day and age, we are presented with more opportunities to learn new skills than at any other time in history. Yet, so many people were never taught the secret of practice. Not only that, they've never been taught that the most important skills to learn and practice are the skill of 'thinking' - the skill of mental picturing, the skill of using your creative imagination, the skill of ramping up your level of desire, the skill of positive self-talk, the skill of confidence - and so on.

All of these skills are the "glue" that binds you to a goal and makes the achievement of it not only possible, but highly probable.

Best,
Matt Furey ^-^

LIVER HEALTH

Lungs & big intestines share the system, if one or the other is infected or sick, the other will also be sick.

When the Liver is in pain, there is not much signs or symptoms to be detected. Before many cancers happen, usually the Liver will be the first to get sick.

Liver filters out the poisons and attacks all other viruses in the body.

99% Chinese have weak livers as they eat a lot of meat, and high fat foods.

The Liver's repair time is effective from 11pm - 3am. Therefore, sleeping late after 11pm & Having late night supper 2 hours before sleep especially high cholesterol and high fat foods weakens the Liver as it does not have sufficient time to rest and regenerate. Even when one sleeps in later in the morning to replace loss sleep will not help.

If you get very hungry just before bedtime, eat some fruits & vegetables which is easy to digest. Meat takes about 4 hours to digest before it goes into the intestines. Meat cooked in oil takes about 12 hours before going into the intestines. This will provoke the Liver & the digestive tract to overwork in filtering the toxins thus you will tend to feel very tired when you wake up in the morning.

Oil is the main culprit that will weaken the functions of the Liver and damage it. Medication cannot cure Liver problem and it will damage it even further.

Cold-pressed Olive oil, carrot, cucumber, raw chili, garlic, onion, little bamboo salt/sea-salt, radish, pumpkin and small fish are good for the body. Sesame oil is ok.

Food-preservatives, Food colourings, Bee Hoon is processed with Aluminium (causes Dementia), Bleach, syrup, Pesticides are bad for Liver health.

Wrong medication can shrink and damage the Liver badly. Radiation from microwave oven destroys all nutrients in the food.

Western medication is bad for the Liver. Chinese medication is bad for kidney. White radish will disable the effects of the Chinese medication.

Sleeping late for children is unhealthy as it weakens memory and intelligence.

Best Healthy times to sleep is 9pm especially so for people who is sick or recovering from it and do not sleep later than 11pm. Lots of rest is good for the Liver to recover. When using eye-cover during bed-time, use only pure-cotton and do not use Rubber, latex material.

A Detoxification Diet helps the Liver & Intestines to recover fast. Natural fresh foods are best for the Liver and overall well being. Do not rely on packed, bottled or canned health foods/vitamins as they lack a lot of natural and essential vitamins which can only be derived from pure, unprocessed natural foods.

A balance of mental/emotional state of mind is very important to the total well-being. Too much Stress of all kinds, loud noises/music, anger, irritation suppressed for too long, pessimism, depressive moods, no goals in life, feeling life has no value or blaming the world & everyone else for his life will further weaken the body system. When the Liver is unhealthy, the Person usually has a bad temper and gets easily angered or irritated.

Giving out gas, perspiration and urine are ways of purging out the toxins from the body.

Do not use too much of air-conditioners as they suppress the body from perspiration. This natural way of purging helps to reduce the load of the Liver. Open the windows for fresh air.

The Story about a tiny frog

Contribute by Jelin Chu.
Once upon a time there was a bunch of tiny frogs... who arranged a running competition.

The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower.

A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the contestants...

The race began...

Honestly:

No one in crowd really believed that the tiny frogs would reach the top of the tower.

You heard statements such as:

"Oh, WAY too difficult!!"

"They will NEVER make it to the top."

or:

"Not a chance that they will succeed. The tower is too high!"

The tiny frogs began collapsing. One by one...

Except for those, who in a fresh tempo, were climbing higher and higher...

The crowd continued to yell, "It is too difficult!!! No one will make it!"

More tiny frogs got tired and gave up...

But ONE continued higher and higher and higher...

This one wouldn't give up!

At the end everyone else had given up climbing the tower. Except for the one tiny frog who, after a big effort, was the only one who reached the top!

THEN all of the other tiny frogs naturally wanted to know how this one frog managed to do it?

A contestant asked the tiny frog how he had found the strength to succeed and reach the goal?

It turned out...

That the winner was DEAF!!!!

The wisdom of this story is:

Never listen to other people's tendencies to be negative or pessimistic... because they take your most wonderful dreams and wishes away from you -- the ones you have in your heart!

Always think of the power words have.

Because everything you hear and read will affect your actions!

Therefore:

ALWAYS be...

POSITIVE!

And above all:

Be DEAF when people tell YOU that you cannot fulfill your dreams!

Always think:

God and I can do this!

Share with more tiny frogs and give them some motivation!!!

" Most people walk in and out of your life... but FRIENDS leave footprints in your heart!!!"

Focus did the impossible

To stay awake for 35 hr to some, it may seems easy. But to stay awake for 35 hr while standing and break time of 5 min every 6 hr, this is quite impossible to a lot of people.

Our dear Focus did the best as he can, lasting his record of about 35hr. He dropped out of the competition at about 2am this morning. Of course we were like him sad that he could not make it to the last 3, but we are more concerned over his health.

Madelene just had a short conversation with me this early morning and both of us really hope he can get back to health due to the lack of sleep and dehydration for the past 2 days. And i am pretty sure that a lot of us wishes him to get back into shape as soon as possible. And there is a saying...Health > Money

"Thanks guys 4 your supports." says Focus.

Focus whatever the result is, we will be behind you. Keep up the effort and jia you.

FOCUS IS THE WINNER

Latest news from NGEE ANN CITY:

Focus posing with a Smile

Our comrade Focus needs your support. He is battling for Subaru 2006 competition. As you notice, he has not sleep nor lie down for the past 35 hours !!! Not easy right?

Focus with great deter mination to win !

The competition started off with about 300 participants. When i reach there at about 1030pm, there are only 61 participants - of course Focus is there (lucky number 76 blue car - those who wanna buy toto can try your luck).

Focus focusing on his hand.

I heard from Vince saying that there are some "lao jiao" in the competition as well (those who took part in the previous years). Well..the participants this years seems stronger than last year but we have faith with Focus.

Some of us at about 11pm cheering him.

We really wish to chat with him so that he can stay awake, but alas he is quite far from us and the venue is very exciting and noisy. I heard he will have a 5 min break in about...2 hrs time.

After i left the place at about 1130pm, there are only 59 participants left. I started to recall those "wonderful" time when i was serving NS. Got to stay up for guard duties, oh boy, i can indeed feel how he felt now. Only that this endurance is 5 times greater (cos on duty can eat a bit of snake, hehe). We really want Focus to win. Go Focus GO GO GO.
JIA YOU !!!

Baby Boomers Trends

* Have you ever dreamt to become your own boss or are you one now?
* Have you wondered what is the niche market around us now?
* If today you can tap onto the niche market and create wealth out of it,

Would it interest you

End of World War 2

A baby boomer is someone who was born during the period of increased birth rates .

That's right. The whole trend started from then. Back in 1945, the end of World War 2, since a lot of people died during that time, all the countries encouraged more babies birth.

From 1946-1964, the babies who were born were estimated to be 1/3 of the world population. If at that time the world population was 3 billion, 1/3 would make 1 billion babies.

Some famous people born during this time are Michael Jackson, American Singer, Entertainer, born 1958, Madonna, American Singer, Entertainer, born 1958, most countries presidents and ministers, and of course our parents and grandparents. (ps: why i name them in famous people, because without them, we won't be created at all :>)

The following statistics are based on North America. The official years of the Baby Boom Generation (1946 through 1964) saw a marked increase in the number of births in North America. Here’s how the birthrate rose and fell during the baby boom years:

1940 - 2,559,000 births per year
1946 - 3,311,000 births per year
1955 - 4,097,000 births per year
1957 - 4,300,000 births per year
1964 - 4,027,000 births per year
1974 - 3,160,000 births per year

(ps: what would be the whole world birth rate then ?)

The baby boomers are real. At different age, they require different kinds of things to satisfy their need.

From 1945-1950. (Abt 01-05 yrs old) -->> Milk, Klim, Pampers
From 1950-1960. (Abt 05-15 yrs old) -->> Toys, McDonald
From 1960-1970. (Abt 15-25 yrs old) -->> Fashion such as jeans-levis,gap
From 1970-1980. (Abt 25-35 yrs old) -->> Houses as they are settling down
From 1980-1990. (Abt 35-45 yrs old) -->> Security such as insurance
From 1990-2000. (Abt 45-55 yrs old) -->> Health

It's Year 2006 and they are at least 50 yrs old, what would these people want most?
Health? Energy? What if there is a way we can help them feel and look younger by 5-10 years, do they want it? Is there a potential for it?

Email me for any enquires.

These few days as u can see i did not post much..Went to another few shop to browse for wedding. I did learn some things from these people. One of them really caught my attention. His name is Kai.From the time i step in, and in his wedding presentation, and his ending, he gave a feeling of family rather than customer. Although its not cheap, his service is excellent.

Heres a few things i have learn
1) Customer buy in your services and not your products.
2) If your service is excellent, they wont mind fork out extra cash to purchase what you can get for them.
3) Treat your customers like your family. Care and Share.

Have a good rest people
